The Dinsmore Homestead Foundation
Martha Ferguson Breasted, a 6th generation Dinsmore, recognized the uniqueness of her family’s Boone County home, which sheltered five consecutive generations. While the furnishings and textiles remain largely original to the first generation, the house itself represents all the lives and changes of the following generations. Martha gave the house and 30 acres to the Dinsmore Homestead Foundation as a museum in June 8, 1988.
